Wood Duck

I went to the botanical gardens with some family from North Carolina last week, and was very surprised to find a pair of Wood Ducks swimming in the large pond. I had never seen a Wood Duck before and was glad I had brought my telephoto lens! Since Wood Ducks have been photographed so many times, I decided to to be different and shoot it at a new pose. I waited until he was head on with me and snapped a few shots. Here is the result, I have never seen a shot taken at this angle before, but I'm sure it has anyway! Hope you Like it.

Pink Flamingo

I took this image during a recent trip to the Fort Worth Zoo.
If you want cooperative subjects and don't live near exotic animals ( like myself ), then
a zoo is a great place to go.

Welcome

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog!
My name is Landon Starnes and I am a nature photographer.
I am 17 years old and homeschooled. I live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas. I started taking pictures about 5 years ago with a point & shoot I bought with birthday money and became more serious about 3 years ago when I bought my first DSLR. Photography is now a serious hobby for me.
I shoot with Canon equipment and love it. I will be working on setting up a website where you can view a detailed portfolio.
On this blog I will post my images hopefully a few times each week. Please leave comments or suggestions on the pictures I take. Hopefully through reading this blog and seeing my photographs you too will have a greater love for the beautiful creation all around us!
